Teachers demonstrate life skills to children
Posted: 11th March 2021Children are being shown how to make their bed, to hoover, set the dinner table and sort the recycling – by their school teachers.
Teachers at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy have released a series of video tutorials to help their pupils to develop life skills.
Videos, posted on the school website, show the staff in their own homes carrying out tasks including tying shoelaces, making a sandwich, writing a letter and planting seeds.
The 30 days of challenges are aimed at all year groups, from the Nursery to Year 6.
Amber Wade, assistant headteacher, said: “The aim of this challenge was to encourage the children to learn new life skills during their time at home – whether this be learning how to use a hoover, post a letter to a loved one or follow a recipe!
“We all had a lot of fun with it and the children got involved by sending in videos/photos of them completing the challenges.”
