Year 3 - Ducks and Otters

AUTUMN term 2024

We hope you have all had a lovely half term break.  

English

In English this term we will be reading 'Beowulf,' retold by Rob Lloyd Jones.

Maths

In Maths we are going to work on multiplication and division.

 

Curriculum:

History

We will be learning about 'Ancient Britain' 

Geography

We will be studying 'Rivers and coasts.'  

Religious Education

We are not studying this subject this half term.

Music

Glockenspiels.

Science

We will be investigating forces and magnets.

P.E.

P.E. takes place for both classes on Wednesday and Friday 

Your child must come to school in correct P.E. kit on these days. Please see the school website for more information regarding the P.E. kit requirements. If your child has their ears pierced, they will be required to either take the earrings out, or cover them with tape, for the lesson. Please remember that Cooks Spinney only allows small stud earrings in school.

 

Art and Spanish will be taught by specialist teachers each week.

 

Homework

Children are expected to read to an adult, practise their tables on Times Tables Rockstars and learn their weekly spellings.  There will also be a termly project to complete.  Please check on Class Dojo for more details.
