Science
Science lessons are delivered weekly in our specialist science lab and pupils are assessed against key perfomance indicators (KPIs) for each area of learning.
Why is the teaching of science important for Cooks Spinney's pupils?
Children are naturally curious. Science at Cooks Spinney nurtures this curiosity and allows them to ask questions and develop the skills they need to answer those questions.
The science curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils:ndational scientific knowledge and conceptuemistry and physics
- Develop a foundational scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the scientific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
- Develop understanding of the scientific processes and scientific method, through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer questions about the world around them.
- Are equipped with scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.
- Are scientifically literate individuals that can use their knowledge, understanding and use of technical language, to take part in political, cultural and economical debates.
