Message to Parents and Carers - Changes to Cooks Spinney's Leadership Team
Posted: 23rd February 2016Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to inform you of some changes to the Leadership Team at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy and Nursery. I will be taking on a new role of Executive Head Teacher for both Roydon Primary Academy and Cooks Spinney Primary Academy and Nursery.
Over the past 18 months, standards at Cooks Spinney have been transformed. Last year, the year 6 results were the best the school has ever achieved and the number of children attaining Level 6 was the highest in our family of schools. Our Key Stage One results, phonics screening results and reception data continue to rise. The fantastic curriculum and the enriched experiences for learning continue to grow. It is no surprise to see our school make a rapid rise to the top four schools in Harlow. This all means we are in a strong position to invite OFSTED back to change our grading.
I am pleased to announce that Mr Stirrat will become Head of School at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy and Nursery. Mr Stirrat’s excellent knowledge of the primary curriculum and extensive experience of achieving outstanding results will ensure our children are stretched and challenged through higher quality teaching in a varied and engaging school environment. This appointment will ensure our children consistently achieve beyond expectations.
Furthermore, I would like to congratulate Mrs Dias, current Assistant Head, on her appointment as Head of School at our new Trust School, Magna Carta Primary Academy, in Stanstead Mountfitchet, it is a brand new school and an exciting opportunity for Mrs Dias to further her career. We look forward to working together as we continue to improve the quality of education for our children and young people across the trust.
I believe these changes are testament to the hard work being carried out at Cooks Spinney and a sign of the quality of personnel within the school. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the parents and carers, for your continued support during these times of transition and look forward to working with you into the future to build our school community into something we can all be proud of.
Yours Sincerely
Mr S Pope
Executive Head Teacher
Cooks Spinney Primary Academy and Roydon Primary Academy
