Duxford visit brings history to life
Posted: 23rd January 2020History lessons took on a realistic feel when children got to explore war memorabilia.
Year 5 pupils at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy have been learning about Britain on the Home Front during their history lessons.
As part of their studies, they visited Duxford Imperial War Museum.
Dean Beaumont, assistant headteacher, said: “The children had a great time exploring the different hangars containing war memorabilia from Lockheed bombers to Anderson shelters; Tiger tanks to anti-aircraft missile launchers; trying on a variety of war clothing and equipment.
“The children were absolutely blown away when they discovered the sheer sizes of many of the aircraft on display.”
