Children took a trip around the world, all within the school day.

Year 2 pupils at Cooks Spinney Primary School, in Cooks Spinney, Harlow, were given passports and travelled to five different countries.

The focus was on Ghana, Papua New Guinea, Spain, Mexico and India, with classrooms being set up with cultural activities from each country.

Jenni Elliot, lead practitioner, said: “Activities ranged from paper weaving Kente cloth in Ghana to drawing surrealist artwork based on the work of Spanish artist Salvador Dali. Children learnt skills such as map reading, but also gained initial awareness of life in different countries.

“The air has been buzzing with conversation about their new experiences and learning.”
