Posted: 24th March 2015A new team is in place to lead a Harlow primary school to a brighter future.
Cooks Spinney Primary School, in Cooks Spinney, Harlow, became part of the Burnt Mill Co-operative Academy Trust in December 2013.
Former deputy headteacher Stuart Pope was appointed head of school and set about improving ambitions and achievements of his children and staff.
He has now appointed three assistant heads of school to support him as he takes the school forward.
Amy Dias, existing assistant head, now takes on responsibility for Key Stage 2, while new assistant head Jenni Elliott is responsible for Key Stage 1 after being promoted from lead practitioner. Francesca Harris, who was a reception class teacher, becomes assistant head with responsibility for the early years and foundation.
Mr Pope said: “It’s great to have people who are already committed to the school and trusted and respected by the school community taking on active roles in developing standards. It helps to keep some consistency.
“It’s a really exciting time. We are starting to get the right people in the right places so we can make a real difference.
“We are hoping this will be the best year Cooks Spinney has ever seen. We want to do something that we are proud of and for 2015 to be the year everything changed.”
