Year 3 Detectives
Posted: 14th September 2015On Monday 14th September, year 3 took part in their 'detectives' WOW day. A crime scene was set up in the KS1 hall with the perception that several musical instruments had been stolen out of the music cupboard. Children were greeted at school by two police officers claiming they needed the year 3 pupils help in solving the crime.
The students took part in a range of activities throughout the day, including; crime scene analysis, chromatography, shoe scrapings, finger print analysis, graphology, surveillance and interviewing suspects.
They started the day with five suspects and had to narrow it down to just one. Unfortunately for him, our caretaker, Mr Stead was the man with the most evidence pointing at him and therefore had to be arrested and taken away in the police car.
The children had great fun being detectives for the day, with one boy claiming "this is the best day I've ever had at school!"
Please have a look at the photos below that were all taken by the children.
